- This policy applies to the LingoWay browser extension and the LingoWay website and web applications (including

Data we collect
- Account data (extension + website)
- Email, encrypted password, and basic profile if you register or sign in (including via Google).
- Learning data (extension + website)
- Vocabulary you save, your learning progress, notes, and your language/learning settings.
- Page content (extension only)
- Text from the page you are viewing only when you use LingoWay features (e.g., highlighting, translation, grammar analysis, blog generation).
- We do not collect or store your full browsing history.
- Usage and technical data (website)
- Basic logs needed to operate and secure the website (e.g., IP address, timestamps, error logs).
How we use your data
- To provide core features: word highlighting, translation, grammar analysis, vocabulary saving, and syncing across devices.
- To maintain and improve the LingoWay service (website and extension).
- We do not use your data for personalized ads or to build advertising profiles.
Browsing activity & permissions
- The extension injects scripts into pages you visit to work on the text you see, but we do not collect or store your full browsing history.
- We use the minimum required permissions (tabs, storage, access to LingoWay sites) only to support the described user‑facing features.
Data sharing
- We do not sell your data.
- We do not share personal or sensitive user data with third parties for their own marketing or advertising.
- Data may be shared only when necessary to operate the service, comply with law, or protect security.
Storage & security
- Data is stored either locally in your browser or on servers controlled by LingoWay.

Cookies and local storage
- On the website, cookies are used only to keep you signed in and remember preferences.
- In the extension, Chrome storage/local storage is used only for settings and core functionality, not for cross‑site tracking.
